House Baked Almonds

INGREDIENTS:

This recipe makes 5 portion(s):

  • 300g Almonds – Whole
  • 20g Butter – salted
  • 5g Salt – Maldon Sea
  • 5g Paprika – ground (one teaspoon)
  • 40ml Maple Syrup

METHOD:

  • In a thick based saucepan add maple syrup and butter with salt and paprika
  • Bring to a high heat until the butter is melted
  • Add the almonds to the saucepan and stir to coat them with the melted butter mixture
  • Coat a baking tray with a little olive oil
  • Transfer all of the contents of the pan into the baking tray and cook at 200 degrees for 15 minutes
  • Once cooked stir the almonds to release them from the tray and transfer on to a clean tea towel to cool. This will remove excess oil and prevent the almonds from sticking together as they cool
  • Once thoroughly cool the almonds can be transferred to a small Belmont jar
  • Serve in 60g portions
