House Baked Almonds
INGREDIENTS:
This recipe makes 5 portion(s):
- 300g Almonds – Whole
- 20g Butter – salted
- 5g Salt – Maldon Sea
- 5g Paprika – ground (one teaspoon)
- 40ml Maple Syrup
METHOD:
- In a thick based saucepan add maple syrup and butter with salt and paprika
- Bring to a high heat until the butter is melted
- Add the almonds to the saucepan and stir to coat them with the melted butter mixture
- Coat a baking tray with a little olive oil
- Transfer all of the contents of the pan into the baking tray and cook at 200 degrees for 15 minutes
- Once cooked stir the almonds to release them from the tray and transfer on to a clean tea towel to cool. This will remove excess oil and prevent the almonds from sticking together as they cool
- Once thoroughly cool the almonds can be transferred to a small Belmont jar
- Serve in 60g portions
